As part of Jigsaw’s work to help residents gain qualifications and learn new skills, the Neighbourhood Engagement Team recently ran two accredited First Aid Skills courses in Tameside.
Neighbourhood Engagement Officer John McGlynn organised the Emergency First Aid Skills at Work and Emergency Paediatric First Aid Skills courses at 4C Community Centre with TMCG training.
The courses enabled the 13 volunteers who took part to become qualified first aiders and learn simple first aid skills that could help to save someone’s life in an emergency.
Each resident who attended the sessions passed the course and received a certificate marking their achievements.
One volunteer, Howard Cain said: “As a volunteer steward at Ashton United in the Community, I need to know life-saving skills and emergency first aid in case of an incident at the club and I now know what to do when called upon.”
