The Friends United Group has been awarded £1140 from the Jigsaw Foundation to help residents host a wide range of exciting activities throughout the next year.
The small community group is part of Jigsaw’s Housing for Over 55’s scheme Forrest Road in Denton, Tameside and is popular with residents, with many attending the regular sessions hosted in the communal lounge.
Funding will be used to hold activities more regularly including coffee mornings, bingo, armchair aerobics, and special Christmas events.
Linda Whyatt, Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, said “The group have been active for over 10 years and even though some of the members have poor health, what they do is always for the benefit of the community.”
