Gaining Skills. Finding Jobs.

Gaining Skills. Finding Jobs.

Over the past couple of months, our Neighbourhood Engagement Team has worked hard to support over 365 people receive special employment guidance to help them get into work.

The team has hosted several jobs fairs and employment skills events across Chorley, Nottingham, Tameside and Oldham since April 2023. They have also helped to promote jobs at Jigsaw alongside our training and employability support services.

Recently, officers John McGlynn, Minaz Aslam and Carolyn Alston hosted a stall at Tameside Autumn Jobs Fair at Dukinfield Town Hall to signpost local residents to different job opportunities.

Jigsaw sponsored the event held last week, alongside Tameside Council with 55 employers and training providers also in attendance.

John McGlynn said “We are pleased to be involved in a number of successful employment and skills events this year, working alongside local employers and training providers to engage with residents currently seeking employment.

“It’s an opportunity for The Neighbourhood Engagment Plans team to meet with and provide residents an insight into our work, organisation and how we recruit alongside the menu of employability support services we can offer people.”
