Volunteers of the Central Community Garden and Craft Café in Dukinfield visited the Royal Exchange Theatre to see the latest play, The Glass Menagerie.
Together with artist Sam Edwards and John McGlynn, Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, the theatre aims to better enable people to access creative and cultural activities.
The volunteers have recently formed The Peoples Community Dukinfield, a community group which aims to provide creative, health and wellbeing activities and support people during the cost of living crisis.
John McGlynn said: “A visit to the theatre is something not in everyone’s financial reach so this was a great way of saying thank you for all their hard work and commitment”.
Resident Sheila Caldecott said: “Thank you to Sam for organising the visit and making it fabulous for everyone, it was an amazing play and we all enjoyed getting out together and being entertained.”
