Beatrix Birthday Celebrations

Residents and colleagues got together to celebrate the 10th birthday of Beatrix House Housing for Over 55s scheme in Dukinfield.

They were joined by Tameside councillors, partners from Active Tameside and Medacs, the on-site care providers, to mark the occasion with a special party including food and entertainment from jazz singer ‘Ain’t Miss Behaving.’

Resident Ron Norton was the first person to move in to the scheme on Gorse Hall Road in July 2012, and says he remembers the day he moved in with his late wife, as it was their wedding anniversary.

He cut a special birthday cake, together with Jigsaw’s Chief Executive Hilary Roberts and scheme co-ordinator Mel Hill who has worked at Beatrix House since it opened.

She said: “It was a wonderful event and all residents said what a great time they had. It’s great to be able to showcase our scheme with its fantastic facilities, which was delivered as part of a successful partnership agreement with Tameside Council.”
