Neighbourhood Team Provide Helping Hand this Winter

Some of our over 55’s residents in Ashton Central and St Peter’s enjoyed a Christmas party at Holy Trinity Church and Community Centre in December.

Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement team helped to organise the event alongside Ashton Pioneer Homes which included a tasty Christmas dinner, party games and a raffle. The Mayor of Tameside, Michael Glover, also came to take part in the festivities with local PSCO’s.

In South Manchester, Neighbourhood Engagement Officers Vikki Barry, Minaz Aslam and Carolyn Alston helped to deliver 60 hampers to families in Moss Side, Hulme and Stretford.

The hampers were made in partnership with organisations Bridging the Gap and Moss Side allotments and provided food and care items to those most in need this winter.

At Dukinfield Central, a children’s Christmas party was arranged by John McGlynn, Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, and The Peoples Community Dukinfield.

Over 40 families with young children attended and enjoyed Santa’s Grotto, arts and crafts activities, festive games and hot food.

The Royal Exchange Theatre also attended alongside Morrison’s Community Champion, TMBC Councillors Jackie Lane and Naila Shariff, local PCSO’s and even Father Christmas.

Christmas craft sessions also took place in Chorley at Buttermere Community Centre and Coppull Methodist Church.

Families were invited to take part in the free activities whilst also enjoying a warm meal and receiving a selection box and fresh food market vouchers to help with Christmas dinner shopping.
