As hoped, New Charter Homes has again been awarded a Gold SHIFT award for 2019/20.
The assessment which supports this award represents the sustainable performance of New Charter, part of Jigsaw Homes Group, across strategy and leadership, existing homes and offices, supply chains, operations and new builds.
It spans energy and resource use, transport and travel, resident engagement, climate risk, biodiversity and responsible sourcing, thereby providing a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s environmental footprint.
This award reflects the commitment of the Group to reduce and improve our impact as a business on the environment but this is just the beginning, and now the hard work starts.
The next assessment will be our first Group joint venture covering all areas and associated assets. It will help us identify areas of the business which can be improved further. The aim now is for the Group to achieve the Silver SHIFT Award by 2021.
