Jigsaw Support connects with Sandwich Angels

Jigsaw Support has connected with local community group Sandwich Angels to bring service users much-needed food and supplies.

Sandwich Angels in Hyde was formed by Christina Howard, who refused to ignore the homeless and hungry on our streets. Christina and her volunteer Angels devote their time to making up a whopping 3,250 sandwiches a week.  These are then delivered to 18 soup kitchens and hostels across Tameside and Manchester. They achieve this purely through food donations and renting kitchen space for free.

Over the last year, Paul Pritt, Facilities Coordinator for Jigsaw Group’s office in Ashton, has dedicated a lot of his time to networking with Sandwich Angels and supporting their initiatives.

Paul visited the Angels’ base with members of the Jigsaw Support team to bring the two teams together. They discussed what the Angels could offer Jigsaw Support’s service users and donated a van filled with vegetables, bread, tinned food and toys!

Jigsaw Support service users now receive donations from weekly food pick-ups. This gives vulnerable individuals and families in our communities ongoing access to some of the vital resources they need.
