Into the Cardboard Cosmos

An interactive play was performed by the Stute Theatre for more than 200 children and residents across Tameside to enjoy.

The play entitled ‘Cardboard Cosmos’ followed two mysterious visitors from a hidden corner of the galaxy who crash landed in a cardboard spaceship looking for a place to call home. It involved crafting, a sustainable message and music, with opportunities for families to get involved and interact.

It was performed at Holy Trinity Community Centre in Ashton, Lyndhurst Community Primary School in Dukinfield and Oasis Broadoak Academy in Smallshaw, Ashton throughout the last month, and was organised by Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officers Carolyn Alston, Minaz Aslam and John McGlynn.

Jigsaw provided £1500 in funding towards the project which aimed to help local children learn about their neighbourhood and the wider world.

John McGlynn said: “It was a great collaboration working once again with Stute Theatre, who were able to provide a top quality fun learning and interactive experience for the children in Tameside.”
